Few places on Mallorca have quite the magic of the Sóller valley, with its lush swathes of olive groves and citrus orchards surrounded by dramatic peaks and pine forests. And this wonderfully restored 17th-century farmhouse is nestled amongst some of the area’s most scenic surroundings, while also being a short hop from the lovely sweeping bay of Port de Sóller.

More PhotosExtensively and expertly renovated by esteemed architect Jose Garcia Ruiz, the finca has maintained its wonderful rustic charm throughout, while adding the latest tech and 21st-century comforts. Natural stone walls and wood beam ceilings combine seamlessly with stylish modern design, and original elements like the old chapel, olive press and flour mill still form part of the unique property. Outside, various terraces provide sun and shade-dappled spaces from which to soak up the glorious Sóller scenery.

SETTING
The villa is situated in a large private estate accessed by electric gates and surrounded by the lush green hillsides of Sóller – part of the heritage protected Tramuntana Sierra. This picturesque region is set on Mallorca’s northwest coast, and the property is a five-minute drive from the Port de Sóller with its marina, restaurant-lined bay and sandy beach. You’re also a short drive from the town of Sóller, one of the island’s prettiest and with its famous antique trains that connects to Palma in around an hour. Alternatively, Mallorca’s capital and the airport is around 35 minutes by road.
SLEEPING
Villa Bahia Soller has six bedrooms across three levels comfortably sleeping up to 12 guests. Decor is a wonderfully calming combination of simple modern styling with rustic touches. All have their own ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower, while the master bedroom also adds a separate soaking tub. All but one room has king-size double beds, which has twin singles.
RELAXING
You’re sure to find complete tranquillity and relaxation stretched out on a cushioned lounger by the lovely 10-metre-long swimming pool. The decked pool terrace is also one of the best places to appreciate the gorgeous valley vistas. The pool is solar-heated too, when you need to take the chill off. There’s plenty of space for soaking up the sun around the various terraces, while inside comfy sitting rooms and snug nooks are perfect for curling up with a book.
EATING
There are two kitchens in the villa, kitted out with everything you’ll need for preparing meals during your holiday. And if you’d rather it alfresco, there’s a barbecue for guests’ use as well as a long table for long lingering meals outside.
Eating out you’re really spoilt for choice, with the port providing a fabulous selection of bay-front eateries. In the centre of Sóller town, too, is a good choice of places to eat in and around the main square.
