Few corners of the island boast such stunning sea-meets-mountain views as the Son Bunyola estate, to which this dreamy holiday villa belongs. SETTING
The villa is located at the end of four kilometres of winding driveway with views en route that will leave you quite breathless. The lush mountainous setting is scattered with pine forests and neatly terraced olive groves and citrus orchards. You’ll find a pick of well-signposted walking trails on the edge of the estate, including along the coast to Son Bunyola Beach. The pretty villages of Banyalbufar and Esporles are a short drive away and, despite the feeling of remoteness, you’re only just over half an hour from the island’s capital, Palma.
SLEEPING
The villa’s five bedrooms are arranged over three levels and comfortably sleep ten guest between them. Each has its own ensuite bathroom and patio doors that open to a furnished terrace. On the upper level, and with the best views, is the spacious master suite which also features a deep soaking tub. Bose Bluetooth speakers also feature in all rooms, together with thick towels, quality toiletries and bathrobes.
RELAXING
Steps lead down from the villa to a lovely open swimming pool area, where the large (15×6 metre) pool is lined with plenty of cushioned sunbeds. The water can also be heated for chillier days. Guest also have access to a tennis court on the estate during their stay, with rackets and balls provided.
EATING
The villa has a wonderful country-style kitchen, but with all up-to-date top-brand appliances, not to mention great mountain views. If barbecuing is your thing, there’s a big outside grill, too.
For dining out, nearby Banyalbufar offers some of the best coastal views while you eat. Alternatively, Esporles is a buzzy little town with some great dining options a few kilometres away.
