There’s something undeniably magical about the Mont Baix villa. It’s not just its superb setting, part of a wine-producing estate in the north Mallorcan countryside. Though this does provide some fabulous views over the surrounding vineyards, Tramuntana mountains and even as far as Alcúdia Bay.

SETTING
Mont Baix is the lower of two villas that share beautifully landscaped grounds full of fragrant Mediterranean flora and mature palm trees. It’s located just outside the pretty little town of Moscari, backed by dramatic mountainscape and surrounded by scenic countryside. There are lots of nearby villages in the Tramuntana foothills that provide perfect starting points for hiking trails. Jump in the car and you’re just 25 minutes drive from the northeast coast and some of Mallorca’s best beaches. If you fancy some big city buzz, Palma – and its international airport – are a half-hour drive.

The villa sleeps up to 10 guest in its five double bedrooms, any of which can be turned into twin rooms. Sunny interiors mix simple rustic touches with pops of colour and jazzy furnishings. The master bedroom is found on the ground floor and features a floral feature wall, beamed ceiling and curved smart TV, as well as opening to a covered garden-view terrace.
One room extends to a small balcony, while two have furnished terraces with pool and bay vistas. All have their own bathroom with walk-in rainfall shower, plus some also add twin stone sinks
RELAXING
Cushioned loungers line the shimmering waters of the villa’s swimming pool for the perfect spot to bask in the sun or lounge under a broad straw parasol. Recreation comes in the form of an artificial grass tennis court, complete with spectators’ courtside lounge and an optional ping-pong table. Inside, there’s a pool table too as well as two comfy lounges, one with a cosy fireplace and the with other a big TV and surround sound system.
EATING
An open plan Bulthaup designer kitchen makes cooking meals a pleasure with a top-of-the-range La Cornue oven and stone worktops. There’s an adjoining dining area as well as a covered terrace with a long table to alfresco eating. Barbecue fans are also treated to a Japanese kamado-style ‘Green Egg’ grill.
If you fancy dining out you can walk straight into the village of Moscari. Alternatively nearby Selva also offers some great restaurants with superb countryside views.
