The surroundings at Mont Alt score high on wow-factor too, forming part of an ecological estate in the north Mallorcan countryside. Twenty hectares of gardens brim with fragrant plants and Mediterranean flora, while offering sweeping views over lush vineyards, the Tramuntana sierra and Alcúdia Bay in the distance. Sun-drenched wooden decking circles a shimmering pool, while shaded terraces create the perfect backdrop for lingering alfresco lunches. Superb rural villa with bay views
SETTING
Mont Alt is located between the picturesque villages of Selva and Moscari and forms part of an estate that produces excellent organic wines. Sitting higher than its neighbouring property, Mont Alt enjoys especially far-reaching views, with the dramatic Tramuntana sierra as its backdrop. There are several charming villages nearby to explore, many of which are starting points for fantastic hiking trails. Mont Alt is also just a 25-minute drive from Alcúdia Bay and some of the island’s finest beaches, while Palma and its international airport are around 30 minutes away.
SLEEPING
Mont Alt has five bedrooms, each individually styled in calming tones with handpicked Moroccan rugs, original artworks and exotic furnishings. All rooms at Mont Alt feature supremely comfortable Schramm beds dressed in crisp cotton linen, arranged as doubles or twins. Every bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom with walk-in rainfall showers, and some also include twin stone sinks. Air conditioning and underfloor heating ensure year-round comfort. Two of the bedrooms are particularly spacious master suites, complete with curved smart TVs and French doors opening directly onto the pool deck.
RELAXING
Relaxation comes easily at Mont Alt, where much of your time will likely be spent poolside on sculpted ‘wave’ loungers beneath individual sail parasols. The mosaic-tiled pool is generously sized for swimming and can be heated if needed. For a more active break, Mont Alt offers an artificial grass tennis court with a courtside spectators’ lounge, while indoors there’s a pool table and a snug cinema room with a 4K projector and plush leather sofa for movie nights.
EATING
The open-plan Bulthaup kitchen at Mont Alt is a joy for keen cooks, equipped with a top-of-the-range La Cornue oven, gas stove and elegant stone worktops. The adjoining dining area seats up to eight guests, while outside a covered terrace offers space for alfresco dining for up to 12, all accompanied by lovely bay views. There’s also a barbecue for relaxed outdoor cooking.
For eating out, it’s an easy stroll into the neighbouring village of Moscari, which has a couple of family-friendly restaurants, while nearby Selva offers several excellent dining options with fabulous views.
