As you pass along the long driveway and pull up to this charming country house, you feel yourself instantly immersed in a world of wonderfully calming rusticity. It’s really quite a picture: the traditionally styled finca built from local honey-hued stone and framed by the surrounding Alaró mountains.

Interior design is a soothing blend of country-style furnishings and chic contemporary decor, eye-pleasing enough to be featured in leading Spanish and French design magazines. The grounds, too, are rather special, with two orchards and vegetable and herb gardens, plus sheep and lambs just beyond who help keep the outer garden tidy. It all adds up to quite the rural idyll.
SETTING
The villa is set in the picturesque countryside surrounding the charming town of Alaró in the centre of Mallorca. The setting comprises a patchwork of fields scattered with citrus and almond trees that extend towards the foothills of the Tramuntana Sierra. Alaró town with its quaint cobbled lanes, pretty town square, and cosmopolitan vibe is an easy stroll away. You’re also within easy reach of some excellent hiking and biking trails, including the renowned climb up to Alaró castle. And if you’re hankering after the buzz of a big city, Palma is just a 25-minute drive away.
SLEEPING
The finca has four bedrooms sleeping up to 8 guests. Three of the rooms are spread between the ground and first floor, while the fourth is in a separate guest house with additional kitchen and lounge. All have a breezy rustic-chic decor, with queen, double or twin beds and views over the gardens. All rooms have an ensuite bathroom, while the master bedroom adds its own dressing room, too.
RELAXING
A lovely pool lined with green mosaic tiling is long enough for your morning swim, or just for cooling off in while enjoying the fragrance of the surrounding gardens. There are number serene spots to unwind in around the grounds, including a decked palapa and sun dappled chill-out area.
A large outdoor jacuzzi is also perfectly located out of eyeshot of the house, but with views of the scenic mountains. Top vistas over the town, campo and sierra can also be enjoyed on the spacious rooftop terrace. There’s a newly refurbished tennis and basketball court next to the house, too, as well as large trampoline and a swing to keep the kids happy.
EATING
A lovely, bright country-style kitchen comes fully equipped with everything you’ll need to cook, even for more ambitious meals. Guests are also free to pick fruit, and herbs from the orchard and gardens, plus the owners provide their own olive oil and honey on arrival.
If you fancy eating out, Alaró has a decent pick of traditional restaurants – La Bufala does incredible pizza while Restaurant Terra Mar & Foc is great for flame-grilled meat and seafood. But of course no stay in Alaró is complete without a trip to Es Verger Restaurant, famed for its slow-cooked lamb and mountain-side setting.
The property is in a peaceful location, yet being in a well-connected area, close to amenities and only 3 minutes walk from the beautiful village of Alaró, in the centre of Mallorca.
There are two fruit tree orchards with over thirty different fruits for you to pick freely from. One large very ambitious vegetable garden and another smaller herb garden full of fresh spices close to the country style kitchen that lets you cook with style.
A newly refurbished private tennis and basketball court next to the house makes fun and workout easy. A large outdoor jacuzzi is perfectly located out of view from the house but with perfect views of the scenic Alaro mountains. Fifteen sheep and approximately ten lambs keep the wider outer garden trim and they love to say hi if you bring some grassy snacks.
The house has a kitchen and a delightful living room with high ceilings and exposed wooden beams. On the same floor, there are 2 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, an independent bathroom and a glazed room 70 m2 with a lot of natural light that is used as a lounge and dining area.
On the upper floor, there is a living room, an office and 2 bedrooms with bathroom en
suite, of which the spacious master bedroom also has 2 separate dressing rooms.
A rooftop terrace of about 15 m2 offers unparalleled views of the village, the mountains
and the surroundings.
