If Boho-infused rustic-lux is your thing, then you’ll love this immaculately presented five-bedroom villa. You’ll find an abundance of typical Mallorcan character, too, with the property’s traditional stonework, wooden beams and terracotta tiling bursting with bucolic charm. Tree-trunk tables, driftwood chairs, thick-weave rugs, even an abstract mural add playful and arty elements, too.

The place is gorgeous inside and out, with manicured lawns, ancient olive trees and fragrant shrubbery making up the landscaped gardens a lovely spot in which to relax. It’s all set in the scenic countryside in the southeast of the island, surrounded by a pretty patchwork of fields and a short hop to some of Mallorca’s most stunning beaches.

Rustic villa brimming with Balearic chic

SETTING

The villa is located in the Santanyí region of Mallorca, a picturesque largely rural swathe of the island which includes a particularly lovely stretch of coastline. Just minutes away is the edge of the Mondragó Nature Reserve, one of the island’s largest and most popular and brimming with pine forests, protected wetlands and wild life.

Part of the reserve and just 10 minutes’ drive away are two wonderful beaches – S’Amarador and Cala Mondragó. The pretty town of Santanyí is around the same distance away, while you’re around 45 minutes from Palma and its international airport.

SLEEPING

The five bedrooms are havens of calm, with a palette of light neutral tones complimented by natural materials such as chunky furnishings, jute rugs and wicker lampshades. Three are on the upper floor, including the master bedroom with a king-size bed and ensuite with a freestanding tub, walk-in shower and twin sinks.

All feature their own bathroom, while the ground floor room opens to its own garden pergola. There’s also a room with bunk beds for kids, with space for two extra children if required.

RELAXING

The tranquil rural setting makes unwinding and disconnecting breeze. A mosaic-tiled infinity pool is big enough for a swim or just to cool off in while soaking up the sunshine and serenity. Poolside you’ll find both deck chairs and cushioned loungers, as well as a canopied Bali bed, perfect for an afternoon snooze. A small stone pool hut also provide comfort and shade. You can bubble away in a hot tub, too, or if you fancy some low-key activity, you’ll find a bocce ball court in the grounds.

EATING

A contemporary take on a country kitchen provides everything you’ll need to prepare your own meals, as well as filtered water on tap. Outside you’ll find a summer kitchen complete with purpose-built charcoal or wood-fired barbecue, plus a covered semi-outdoor dining area perfect for lingering lunches.

If you’re eating out, the local village S’Alqueria Blanca has a few authentic restaurants, while nearby Santanyí adds some upmarket options. If you fancy loads of choice and more buzzy, seaside vibe head to the centre of Cala d’Or resort, just 10 minutes away by road.
